Role Overview:

AGA is currently seeking a full-time Director to be based in our Jakarta office. The Director will be expected to oversee and manage client service within our Indonesia portfolio, and will represent the firm in high-level external engagements as our Indonesian Country Representative.

The candidate we are seeking will have extensive experience in government relations or government as well as strong networks within key government agencies and the foreign business community. The candidate should have recognized expertise in Indonesia’s political economy and familiarity with policy issues in leading industrial and service sectors. S/he must also have strong project management skills and be experienced in mentoring junior consultants. The ideal candidate should have a postgraduate degree in business, economics, international relations, or a related field.

Responsibilities include:

  • Driving strategy and implementation for all projects with existing and future clients in Indonesia.
  • Structuring and proposing solutions for client challenges and issues.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Eight or more years of progressive experience in government relations, corporate affairs and/or government in Indonesia.
  • In-depth understanding of the investment and policy climate in Indonesia. Strong network within government and business stakeholders is a big plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal negotiation and communication skills, especially among high-level international business executives and government decision-makers.
  • Written fluency in policy, political economic and issue analysis in Indonesia for a business audience.
  • Distinctive English skills, both written and oral. Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and mentoring a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to constantly changing priorities.
  • A dynamic, self-starter and autonomous attitude.

Role Overview:

AGA is currently seeking a full-time HR and Office Administrator to be based in our Jakarta office. The role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping a leading advisory firm, as well as exposure to a dynamic HR mandate.

The HR component of the role will have a regional scope. The candidate will work closely with AGA’s leadership team to develop and implement AGA’s human resource strategy, improve institutional practices, and strengthen career development for staff in six AGA offices across Southeast Asia. The candidate we are seeking will have demonstrated experience in HR practice, particularly in skills development, career planning, and recruitment. The candidate should also hold demonstrable experience providing HR support for a range of nationalities.

The candidate will also play a managerial role for AGA’s Jakarta office, and will oversee daily administrative and clerical tasks.


Responsibilities include:

HR duties

  • Developing and administering programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company
  • Establishing an in-house employee training system that addresses company training needs including training needs assessment, new employee onboarding or orientation, management development, production cross-training, the measurement of training impact, and training transfers
  • Designing and update job descriptions, advertising job opening on AGA website, LinkedIN and other platforms
  • Overseeing the candidate recruitment process, including screening candidates, preparing and distribute writing tests, and checking references
  • Sending job offer emails and answer queries about compensation and benefits
  • Acting as a consultant to new hires and help them onboard
  • Organizing and maintain personnel records
  • Updating internal databases (e.g. record sick or maternity leave)
  • Preparing HR documents, like employment contracts and new hire guides
  • Answering employees queries about HR-related issues

Admin duties

  • Managing and prioritizing the CEO’s schedule in Indonesia, including scheduling meetings, conference calls and making travel arrangements
  • Screening phone calls, enquiries and requests, and handling them when appropriate
  • Maintaining an up-to-date contact database, and organizing and maintaining files and records
  • Preparing monthly petty cash requirements and arranging supplier payments
  • Managing company registration and legal paperwork when necessary
  • Handling monthly expense reports for Jakarta office staff
  • Handling medical insurance administration for staff and ensuring all policies are renewed promptly
  • Working with accountants to ensure timely contributions to tax and social security obligations, as appropriate
  • Providing timely and proactive management of the organization’s office environment

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Human Resources/Business Administration/Management, or other degree qualifications that are supported by relevant experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years working in human resources related environment, either in a profit and/or non-profit organization
  • Working experience in International/Multicultural Organization or other demonstrable experience providing HR support for a range of nationalities
  • High-level technical skills and knowledge in the stated area of responsibilities
  • Proven ability for being accurate when working under pressure and adherence to deadlines
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving, planning, evaluating and monitoring the effectiveness and efficiency in HR service delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate staff and maintain sound working relationships for efficient and effective result
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaborative work practices, work effectively, with colleagues at all levels of the firm, across different countries
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, with sound oral and written communication skills, particularly in English
  • Experience in identifying training/professional/technical development needs, able to conduct on the job training, as well as foster career development goals for the team members
  • Possess a high degree of independence, objectivity and integrity in all aspects of personal and work activities/relationships
  • Computer literate with adequate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook relevant to needs of the position
