Role Overview:

AGA is seeking a part-time or full-time Washington, DC Director to provide counsel and support for AGA’s client service and client development in the United States.

The ideal candidate would have strong networks within the corporate and public affairs community based in Washington, DC, particularly at companies with significant offices and operations in Asia, as well as with the Asia diplomatic community in Washington. He/she should have experience working with large private-sector companies and be familiar with regulatory and policy issues across a range of leading industrial and service sectors.

The candidate must have a solid understanding of political and economic developments across Southeast Asia, and be experienced in communicating with a business audience.

AGA is currently seeking to hire a Finance and Administration Officer to be based in AGA’s Bangkok office. The role offers a dynamic portfolio with responsibilities across three main areas: office administration, accounting and human resource management.

Specific Duties:

Office Administration

  • Providing timely and efficient day-to-day management of the organization’s office needs and requirements.
  • Managing company registration and legal paperwork as required by law and the firm.
  • Organizing and maintaining filing system for accurate and complete and record-keeping.
  • Screening phone calls, inquiries and requests, and handling them when appropriate.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date contact database.
  • Assisting staff with setup of meetings, organization of trips, and other work-related logistical arrangements.
  • Administration of new recruitment including orientation and setting up workstation.

Accounting Administration

  • Supporting Singapore-based Finance & Administrative Manager with all accounting and tax matters of AGA’s Bangkok office.
  • Ensuring accounting and auditing requirements for the Bangkok office are met.
  • Assisting to maintain petty cash float and prepare disbursements when required.
  • Act as liaison on behalf of AGA to interact with select external parties, including tax authorities and outsourced accounting and law firms.

Human Resource Administration

  • Providing proactive support to all staff in the Bangkok office to ensure compliance with Thailand’s labor regulations as well as with AGA’s employment contracts and code of conduct.
  • Maintaining accurate records for employee holiday requests.
  • Handling medical insurance and social security fund administration for staff.
  • Preparing job descriptions, posting ads and supporting hiring process.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Post-secondary education (college diploma or university degree) – background in business administration or communications is helpful.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and relevant experience in bookkeeping.
  • Relevant experience in office administration is highly desired.
