Asia Group Advisors (AGA), Southeast Asia’s premier strategy and business advisory firm, announced the appointment of public policy veteran Agung Yudhawiranata as Director and Country Representative for Indonesia.

Agung will lead AGA’s growing client service work in Indonesia and oversee the management and operations of the firm’s Jakarta office.  He will work closely with AGA Managing Director Annisa Natalegawa and the leadership team to strengthen and expand AGA’s client service offering in Southeast Asia’s largest economy.

“We are pleased to have someone of Agung’s calibre join our growing team in Southeast Asia. Agung’s many years of experience working in the public policy and regulatory arena in Indonesia and his deep familiarity with Indonesia’s fastest-growing industries and sectors will strengthen our capabilities in Indonesia, and enable us to provide even more impactful services and solutions for our clients,” said AGA CEO and Founder Adam Schwarz.

“I am delighted to be part of the dynamic AGA team and to contribute to its expansion in the region. Indonesia is the largest and one of the most dynamic economies in Southeast Asia, and I look forward to leveraging my expertise and experience to help businesses and international organizations navigate and successfully seize opportunities in this market,” added Agung.

Prior to joining AGA, Agung was the Director for Public Policy & Philanthropy for Indonesia and Malaysia at Twitter Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, while concomitantly serving as Chief Representative for the Twitter office in Jakarta.

At Twitter, Agung led a number of flagship projects in collaboration with the Indonesian government. These included the PetaJakarta initiative with the Jakarta Emergency Management Agency (BPBD DKI Jakarta) which allowed citizens in the capital city to report in and authorities to respond in real-time to flooding incidents. This evolved into the PetaBencana.id platform which enabled real-time reporting of disasters across the entire archipelago. Under Agung’s leadership, Twitter Indonesia’s growth in daily active users in 2020 was the platform’s highest in Southeast Asia.

Agung holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree in International Law from the University of Hong Kong, and a B.A. degree in International Relations from Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta.
